Chapter 97 George
pαndα,noνɐ1,сoМ Time passed by quickly and Tang Qiaolian finally finished her narration, updating each and every detail to Lei Zhen.
"Phew, and that\'s where I currently ended up." Tang Qiaolian smiled and drank a cup of water to replenish her dry throat after talking for so long.
Lei Zhen nodded his head and stood up, grabbing her empty cup to refill some more water for her.
His little action didn\'t go unnoticed and Tang Qiaolian was grateful for Lei Zhen\'s patience.
Unlike others who would never bother to listen to her rambling, Lei Zhen would calmly listen to everything and pay attention to them.
Although he rarely speaks, that was just his personality.
Drinking the newly filled water in one gulp, Tang Qiaolian chuckled a bit in joy.
"Hah, my father\'s men should be arriving soon to pick me up." She said, a bit dejected in her tone.
"Alright, just remember to grab your MagnoPod as well." Lei Zhen said, pointing at her advanced MagnoPod in the living room.
However, Tang Qiaolian shook her head in response. "That MagnoPod is now yours. Take it as thanks for letting me stay here for a few days."
Before Lei Zhen could refuse her, Tang Qiaolian raised her finger and placed it on his lip. "Don\'t you dare refuse me? Otherwise, I\'m not going to be so nice anymore."
She was adamant about her decision and continued, "That MagnoPod you\'re using is not good enough. It could only store a B-grade Nutrient Solution, and it could cause you harm in the future."
Her words might seem simple, but Lei Zhen knew what she was hinting at.
The MagnoPod that Shan Lin purchased for him might not be good and he shouldn\'t use it constantly.
And during these times, Lei Zhen contacted Shan Lin less and less. It was a bitter feeling for him to stop contacting his good friend.
"Then what do you want me to do with these two MagnoPod?" Lei Zhen asked.
"Rest assured, I\'ll have someone take away that bad one." Tang Qiaolian replied, and checked her cell phone.
"My father\'s men arrived, so I\'ll get going."
Right as she finished that, the door to the apartment was knocked and Tang Qiaolian opened it.
"Miss Qiaolian." One of the men outside greeted and bowed his head.
"Un, go and take that old MagnoPod away. Oh, make sure you don\'t make a mess, or else, you\'re going to get it." Tang Qiaolian commanded them.
Sometime later, the men swiftly grabbed the MagnoPod that Lei Zhen always uses away. With the invention of Nutrient Solutions, humans are now stronger than before and are capable of lifting a lot of weights.
After some more time, Tang Qiaolian bid farewell to Lei Zhen as she hopped into a limousine car and left. As for her personal Pagani car, it was driven by the other men.
Seeing her leave, Lei Zhen knew they were two different people at the end of the day.
"Back to Magnolia I go…" Lei Zhen stretched his body.
Just when he was ready to enter the MagnoPod given by her, Lei Zhen noticed a box next to it. Dumbfounded, Lei Zhen unpacked it, only to realize it was a batch of A-grade Nutrient Solution.
"When did she place this here?" He muttered in confusion.
The batch of A-grade Nutrient Solution costs a fortune and not just anyone can have this many. Yet Tang Qiaolian had quietly handed these many without saying a single word.
"I owe her too much at this point already," Lei Zhen sighed softly, feeling a bit bitter.
He needed to work harder to repay her, and with that mindset, Lei Zhen hopped into the MagnoPod.
Instantly, he could feel a difference when entering the world of Magnolia. His body felt much smoother compared to the previous one.
Looking at his hand and moving his body around, Lei Zhen was surprised by the effect.
"Is this why people use A-grade Nutrient Solution one? The immersive feel seemed to have increased by a large margin." He muttered softly.
Right as he was mesmerized by the effect, a guard knocked on the door.
"Sir, are you there?" The guard asked respectfully.
"What\'s the matter?" Lei Zhen responded, much to the surprise of the guard.
"Ah, Sir, you finally replied. Princess Kate had ordered me to inform you to meet her in the office when you responded." The guard said, relaying orders from Kate.
"I see, I\'m coming out now."
Seeing how Kate had made this arrangement, Lei Zhen knew something else must have happened during the time he had logged out.
Sometime later, under the guidance of the guard, Lei Zhen arrived at Kate\'s office.
She was currently writing something on a piece of paper with a solemn expression on her face. Besides her, three more attendants were standing opposite of her, listening to her command.
The guard that brought Lei Zhen over wanted to announce his arrival, but Lei Zhen stopped him in time.
He waved his hand to dismiss the guard and found a corner seat to sit in, watching Kate working.
"The Lux Forest conflict is becoming more obvious after the internal conflict of Yors Castle. Recently, patrol guards spotted more monsters gathering near the borderline defense." One of the three attendants said.
The attendant was a tall, handsome man with chiseled features and piercing blue eyes. He had a strong, squared jawline and a straight nose, and his golden hair was styled in a fashionable undercut that framed his face.
He was impeccably dressed in a tailored suit of fine wool, with a crisp white shirt and a pair of shiny black dress shoes. His clothing was adorned with gold buttons and embroidered with intricate patterns, and he wore a pair of silver cufflinks that glinted in the light.
"I understand, George. Have some more men on patrol duty and report to me if there are more anomalies." Kate responded swiftly. After that, she continued to discuss with the other two people for some time.
By the time they were done, the two attendants left quickly, whereas George stopped for a second as he saw Lei Zhen sitting at the corner.
"Greetings to the chancellor. I\'m George and the person in charge of the defense ministry." George walked over, bowed his head slightly, and introduced himself.
Lei Zhen stood up and nodded his head.
"Nice to meet you, George." He said calmly, shaking his hand as a polite gesture.
