Chapter 417 417: The End Of The Night Family II
To the public all that made her was a woman who loved her husband and children and grandchildren dearly. She was clearly misunderstood, or she just didn\'t understand her family enough which was why there was such conflicts. Cole didn\'t care what it was, the Tabloids were having a field day with their deaths and the family drama that they had left behind.
They were both lowered into the ground in the main family tomb. The tradition of burying people in the ground never changed, though a small tomb was always built anytime a patriarch of the family passed. A tradition that has been going on for about a century and the half.
"You\'ve been awfully quiet lately." a voice said to Cole as his aunt came to sit stand besides him. Cole shrugged in reply and did not say anything back in return. Fully proving to her that he was being quiet. But that did not seem to deter her as she kept on talking.
"What about payback? Are we going to let the people who did this to us walk away Scott free?" she asked, her eyes blazing with fury as she locked it with Cole\'s.
His aunt is a beautiful woman, and with the rage in her eyes it made her that much more pristine. But she was also tired, stressed, grieving and getting old. After all she was older than Cole\'s own father…..the eldest of all his grandfather\'s children, but somehow she still looked 25 or 30.
"why are you talking to me? We are not friends, you hate me and I most definitely hate you…..if you want payback you k now where to find the government why are you talking to me about it?" Cole asked with a rather dull look on his face. His aunt sneered at him for a moment then raised her head to lock eyes with her brother, Cole\'s father as he stood by the entrance of the tomb. She sighed then turned to Cole.
"Honestly Kid...you\'re all I\'ve got left. You and your family. I\'ve never been good at being alone. When I lost my mother and subsequently my father to the woman who drover her to her death, I could t bear the thought of being alone. Cause I was scared, I still am. I cant have kids of my own Cole, and my brother never wanted to have kids...said our father showed him family was just a lie and he did not want to bring any rotten spawn that would stab him in the back later.
I convinced him to get married and become a father. And he changed, the love in his eyes finally brought light back into our lives…into my life. And I loved those kids with every bone in my body….like they were my own, but they were born steeped in our hatred for our father and the matriarch. They grew up indoctrinated with that hatred and that had led to family spilling blood, that has led to me watching my beloved brother kill my daddy.
My father who tried his best to make it up to us after our mom died. he was there for every dance recital, every broken bone, every broken heart, the day I found out I could not be a mom and the man I loved left me. The day your cousins were born, their first day of school, every birthdays. And we took it all for granted and now he\'s gone.
There are too many things we could have done differently but hate….we let hate rule our hearts. We couldn\'t grow, we couldn\'t move forward, we just started killing each other…."
By this point her voice had faded in a whisper, the horror in her eyes drowned heavily by the remorse and self loathing. Cole stopped forward and gave her a hug. He hated this bitch with a passion, he had killed people for less, yet she was still alive after what she did to him. He didn\'t trust her, and he did not forgive her, but...she\'s family and in pain…..perhaps it\'s time for what\'s left of the Night family to uphold the tenets these family was built on.
"Family looks out For Family, no matter what." it was those words he said that broke her, as she sunk into him, heaving and crying even more heavily than expected. Cole raised his head up and locked eyes with his father, he gave the old man a nod before leading his aunt back to the car that brought her. As he placed her inside, and just before she left he said this to her.
"I think it was the Chinese that said Ten years is never too late for a Gentleman to get his revenge. The governments of our universe will get whats coming to them, sooner rather than later. But before I kill each and every single last one of them dear aunt of mine, first ill take everything they have, then I will take everyone they love, and then just like they have done to us. I will leave them alive, broken and helpless, watching as I walk all over the fucking corpses of their fucking descendants! Drive safely aunt."
