Chapter 3 - Entering the Chaotic Starry Sky, a World Collapses!
would participate in the simulated college entrance exams to further their studies at the Starry Sky University.
All world masters compete, using world projections to dispatch their warriors and creatures to fight enemies.
The rewards are abundant. The school alone offers tens of millions in financial rewards,
and the nation and local governments are even more generous.
Various strategic resources, breeding cards, race cards, and even S-Class cards are available.
A gleam flashed in Su Bai’s eyes—this was indeed the best chance to make up for his natural shortcomings.
He wanted to experiment with the God Simulator’s effects as soon as possible,
so he hurriedly said goodbye to his class teacher.
Unexpectedly, just as he left the classroom, he ran into Chi Lansu coming out of the principal’s office.
Beside her was a rugged-looking male student with bronze skin.
The male student seemed to be trying to flirt with Chi Lansu.
Chi Lansu’s face showed a hint of impatience, but when she saw Su Bai, her eyes lit up.
She quickly ran over and happily said,
“I heard you successfully awakened your world too, hehe, congratulations!”
“Barely, I’m still trailing behind you for now.”
Su Bai replied with a slight smile at the corner of his mouth.
Seeing the two of them chatting happily, the male student frowned and asked,
“Are you also from Class One?”
“Are you Xiang Hu from Class Three?”
A strange look flashed in Su Bai’s eyes.
Seemingly remembering something, Xiang Hu chuckled and said,
“You’re not that Su Bai from Class One who awakened the weakest world, are you?”
“Can you see someone’s lifetime potential already? My world is twice the size of yours; does that mean I’ll always be twice as good as you?”
Chi Lansu wrinkled her delicate nose and dragged Su Bai away.
Earlier in the principal’s office, after learning about her awakening results,
Xiang Hu had tried to curry favour, which had thoroughly disgusted her.
Now that he had spoken disrespectfully, she naturally didn’t feel inclined to be polite.
Watching the two walk off closely together, Xiang Hu looked embarrassed.
“Pretty boy, let’s see how you do in the college entrance exams in 7 days!”
“Sometimes, the cruelest thing is seeing hope only for it to be destroyed again.”
Due to the limited number of participants, the college entrance exams first start at the school level,
then advance to the city level, and so on.
Xiang Hu was absolutely confident he could crush that pretty boy in the school competition!
“Only the strong deserve beautiful women!” …
On the way home,
the class leader cautiously comforted Su Bai, saying that awakening his world was just the first step.
There was still a long road ahead.
Su Bai chuckled and confidently said,
“Just being able to awaken successfully already puts me ahead of 99.9% of people.”
“Class Leader, don’t worry about me. You should focus on preparing for the college entrance exams in 7 days.
If your results are good enough, getting into one of the top ten universities is far better than joining any mega-corporation.”
Seeing that he wasn’t discouraged, Chi Lansu smiled brightly and said,
“It’s good that you think that way. By the way, is the reward you got from the school this card too?”
With a flick of her fingers, a card emitting a greyish glow appeared in her hand, showing an image of black soil.
[Black Soil Card]: “C-Class land card. After use, it can affect a 10-kilometre area of land, enriching it with organic matter and fertiliser.
It’s the best initial aid for new world masters.”
There was a small line of text at the bottom of the card:
[Note: A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.]
“Uh…”
The difference really was stark. His card was the most trashy D-Class card,
while the class leader’s was probably worth fifty times more than his Rain Card.
Su Bai laughed it off and hurried home to start his experiment.
“There’s a lot to do. I’ll see you in 7 days at school. I’ll let you witness my world then.”
The class leader smiled and waved goodbye, saying,
“Alright, but when the time comes, I’ll take my revenge for all the times you’ve bullied me in the past.”
Su Bai jogged all the way home.
The house he lived in was a resettlement home.
Two years ago, when he transmigrated here, he started off with both parents dead.
If it weren’t for a substantial amount of compensation in his bank account,
he wouldn’t have even been able to survive.
He personally made himself a bowl of noodles and luxuriously added an egg.
After quickly finishing dinner,
he made a firm resolution to himself.
“From tonight onward, the hard times are gone for good.”
Sitting cross-legged on the bed, Su Bai immersed his consciousness into his mind.
In the next moment, it was as if his soul had left his body.
When he opened his eyes again, he was in the dark, chaotic starry sky.
Scattered stars, each representing a small world, dotted the vastness before him.
Before he could marvel at the magnificence of the universe, a streak of light flashed before his eyes.
It was a meteor.
No!
Upon closer inspection, Su Bai realised it was a small world that had just collapsed!
Its world barrier shattered, land fragments scattered, rivers tilted, and countless corpses fell from the ruined world.
In the silent starry sky, it appeared especially tragic and beautiful.
Seeing a world’s collapse the moment he arrived, Su Bai’s emotions were complicated.
Without the protection of his home planet, he wasn’t much better off than a newborn baby!
As the meteor continued to fall,
streams of glowing light flew out, coalescing into cards as they shared similar properties.
Witnessing the birth of these cards firsthand, Su Bai couldn’t help but sigh.
“It’s long been said that treasures are everywhere in the chaotic starry sky.”
“If you’re lucky, you might be near a collapsing world and strike it rich by plundering its wealth!”
“Cards are condensed from the laws. What kind of high-level divine card will be born from a collapsing world?”
Su Bai regretted that he had arrived too late and lacked the strength.
Otherwise, he would have rushed forward to pick up some treasures.
The most frustrating thing was that, as the falling world passed by,
he couldn’t take advantage of the moment when they were closest to each other.
He vaguely saw small black dots approaching the meteor.
Given how visible they were from such a distance, they had to be super warships or island-class battle fortresses.
Before he could pull his gaze away, a crisp sound rang in his mind.
The God Simulator had activated on its own!
